Rooftop tents and accessories can be considered luxury items. To enhance security and deter thieves, we are launching Anti-Theft system. While using locks is generally more effective, good quality locks compatible with tents and accessories can be expensive. Therefore, we’ve added two small features to help deter theft.
We now offer the option to add a custom number to the aluminum plate on our rooftop tents. It is only available for ‘Premium Package’ of accessories. For rooftop tents, there is an aluminum plate with our brand name on the outside. Upon request, we can add a unique number next to the name. This plate is very difficult to remove. We will print the number on the tent’s cloth as well. For other accessories, we provide hot stamp stickers that you can apply yourself using an iron.
On the other hand, we provide unique nuts and bolts for fastening and loosening the roof top tent to the roof racks/bars. A special tool is coming along with the bolts.
This may seem like a minor design change, but as our brand becomes more well-known, thieves will also become aware of it. With these added features, we hope to deter thieves, as removing the numbers would be an extra step for them, and they would risk getting caught if people notice the number or logo has been tampered with and report it in overlander communities. The unique nuts and bolts are also deterring thieves as it is more difficult to loosen them without the unique tool.
These are just prevention. If you are targeted by thieves, probably nothing can stop them.
Few measures can actually ‘anti-theft’ them. Either screwed into the car roof, or glue all the screws so that they cannot be removed. However, these mean the tent will stay on top forever with the car.
